ABOUT COLLECTIVE
Collective Digital Media brings business launch support, websites, content and practical digital tools into one connected approach.
OUR APPROACH
A new business can quickly become a collection of separate tasks: build a site, set up a profile, write the copy, choose the tools.
Collective Digital Media is run by James Gornall. James builds and runs this site alongside JG Fitness and The Dog Geezer—three live, owner-run businesses used to keep the work grounded in practical decisions.
Collective Digital Media is new, but James’s background isn’t. He is a British Army veteran. In 2015 he ran JG SEO and Marketing Consultancy, and for the last six years he has run Hareshill Boarding Kennels in Heywood, so the advice here comes from both marketing small businesses and running one day to day.
The projects page explains these in-house examples clearly: JG Fitness centres an online coaching offer, The Dog Geezer makes a dog-walking service easy to understand, and Collective is the working home for this digital-support service. They are owner-run projects, not claims about external client results.
We believe those decisions work better when they support each other. Our focus is on useful work with a clear purpose. A website that explains your offer. Content that sounds like you. Systems that make everyday tasks simpler.
Whether you are starting from an idea or improving what is already there, the starting point is the same: understand what you need and build around it.
PROOF FROM JAMES’S OWN BUSINESS
Ranking and rating checked October 2026.
James built the Hareshill Boarding Kennels website himself, and it still ranks number one on Google for “dog kennels Heywood”.
Over six years running the kennels, the site has also ranked number one in Rochdale and Oldham, and on the first page in Bury and Middleton. The kennels holds a 4.9-star rating from 93 Google reviews.
He built it by hand on WordPress, before AI tools could help, on a platform Collective has since moved on from. In 2026 he redesigned it and cut the page weight from 3.6 MB to 1.6 MB so it loads faster on phones, without touching the titles, headings and local wording its rankings rely on.
It is the same approach Collective takes for clients: a clear page for every area you serve, a well-kept Google profile, and real reviews from real customers.
